Wedding Planning - General Bridal & Groomal Advice
The
Best Of The Best:
Let me share something with you, before I get into all the websites out there. I found this e-book, and I'm not an e-book person. I like to hold my books, and write in them, and dog-ear the pages, you know? But anyway, I came across this e-book when Dave and I were planning our wedding last year, and I thought, "Yeah, right." Because I thought for sure I always had the absolute last word on finding the best deals when it came to weddings (I'm all about saving money, right? That's me.). Well, I hate to admit it, and I won't tell her even if I meet her, but Stephi Stewart has me beat. I found some amazing ideas in her book, "Fire Your Wedding Planner!" I can honestly tell you that she taught ME stuff I did not know. So, here's to Stephi Stewart... And YES, I do recommend this book!
More good stuff:
OurMarriage.Com
This is a great site! Not only does it have tons of articles
and freebies, but there is a FREE, downloadable wedding planner
at the site. Or, you can purchase a customizable copy for only $4.95. My absolute
current favorite! * * * * *
The New American Wedding Not an actual planning site, but the site for a book by the fabulous Diane Meier Delaney. Worth a look. * * *
Bridalocity One
of my favorite wedding planning sites. Lots of free
stuff. * * * *
WedPlan.Net Have you been to WedPlan.Net? What are you waiting for? This is a fantastic, very classy site. * * * *
Brides Club Okay, it doesn't
look like much, but Brides Club will surprise you. The
coolest thing about Bride's club is, if you
register (so they can bombard you with advertisements), then you can
download a free wedding planner. You know me, I'm all about "The FREE."
(I sincerely doubt that each city has a completely different wedding
planner, but it's a cute idea.) * * * *
The Bridal Starter Wedding Planner Okay, they are really just starting out, and they don't have a lot of vendor links, but it's a good idea. They also have links to stores for your registry. *

Also Very Good:
Best Wedding
Sites They have everything you could imagine here. Articles,
mailing lists, newsletters. Merchandise.
Popular Wedding Links Nice size site, national, tons of links. We are there!
Advise-A-Bride
Small site with ideas, advice. Some merchandising.
Celebrate Intimate Ceremonies with Relationship Expert Larry James. This is actually a very nice site
with a deceptively small front page. I've found tons of ceremony
information. Dig around, it's worth it.
Tie the Knot
Very attractive, a little artsy, international, no--global, directory of
services. Very attractive, but I don't know how useful.
Top Wedding
Questions
Wedding Questions: Free Advice from Wedding Etiquette Experts. Well, I
don't know about that. It's a forum-style site, and a little confusing
to move around. Also, there is some mega-merchandising going
on. But you may find some useful information there. Use your judgment.
Wedding Help Line Online This is a big site with what look like lots of links & advice, but it is poorly executed.
Do-It-Yourself Weddings Many good ideas here. * * * *
iVillage You know, iVillage really IS a good place. There's a lot here, so have fun. You'll end up reading about tumors or menopause.
Your Wedding 101.
This is just the CUTEST site, I love the way it's laid out, it's so
much fun to play there. Lots of good links to go all over the place to
look at rings, dresses, all the pretty things. There's planning advice,
too, but mostly its SHINY and CUTE. (I'm so fond of it, you will find
it listed in my Monster Sites, too.)
